VLDB 2021: Attendance Support - 2nd Round - Virtual Attendance
We are very happy to announce a second round of fellowship opportunities to attend VLDB 2021 which takes place in Copenhagen, in hybrid mode. The fellowships are offered by the VLDB Endowment.
The VLDB Endowment attendance grants provide financial support to students and young researchers affiliated
with universities with limited funding opportunities. Grants have a strong focus on universities in
developing countries (as listed by ACM)
to attend the VLDB 2021 conference virtually.
The long-term goal of the program is to encourage talented young scientists to pursue a career in database
research. The VLDB Attendance Support Program provides grants for roughly 50 virtual attendees funded by the
VLDB Endowment. These will allow free registration for virtual attendees. The free registration amount will
be provided by a voucher code at registration time.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Applicants must be full-time students in good standing (graduate or undergraduate), or postdoctoral fellows/researchers who are either
- affiliated with universities that do not already have considerable presence at VLDB conferences
- or
- have a paper at the conference (or associated events).
Applicants must explicitly state that they do not have any other funding to attend. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate keen interest in database research and are from regions that are under-represented in the database community; presenting a paper accepted at the main conference or the workshops in VLDB 2021 is welcome but not mandatory.
Application Process
Applicants should fill in the form at https://forms.gle/9t43twgZ6FugjoQE7 by July 28, 2021.
