Call for Panels
Call for Panels

The 39th International Conference on Very Large Databases (VLDB 2013) invites proposals for panel sessions on all aspects of data management. We encourage submissions on potentially controversial issues on topics of emerging interest in research and industry.

VLDB is a premier annual international forum for data management and database researchers, vendors, practitioners, application developers, and users. This year's conference will be held August 26-30 at the picturesque town of Riva del Garda, Italy. The conference will feature research talks, tutorials, demonstrations, and workshops. It will cover current issues in data management, database, and information systems research. Data management is one of the main technological cornerstones of emerging applications of the twenty-first century.

The panel proposal should include the title of the panel, a short statement on its importance and the potential issues of controversy, a tentative list of questions that will be posed to the panelists, a potential list of participants along with their affiliations, and a short bio of each participant.

Panel proposals should be e-mailed to one of the panel co-chairs on or before March 15, 2013. The authors will be notified of the decision by April 12, 2013.

Short panel summaries will appear in the VLDB conference proceedings.
